Arbitrary versus Meaningless

Just because something is arbitrary does not mean it is
1) meaningless,
2) oppressive and/or
3) can be safely ignored.

Think traffic lights.
(That’s not to say that decisions on where and whether to place traffic lights are non-political. The lack of pedestrian crossings can be a ‘fuck you’ gesture to local populations that then have to dodge fast cars. Don’t believe me? There are some dead Israeli Arabs I’d like you to meet…
